Hi, my name is Kim McDonald and I live in Melton, Australia
I started making bears in 1996 after finding a pattern for a large bear in an op-shop. I was very pleased with the 'look' of the 2 bears I made from this pattern. Soon after, I discovered that our local news agent sold teddy bear magazines and through these magazines I was introduced to the world of miniature bears. In one of these I came upon an article on designing your own mini bears. I just had to give it a go and from then on there was no stopping me.
I also have an interest in painting, knitting and sewing, which has been a great help to me with creating my own unique designs. As you will notice, nearly all my miniature bears are dressed. I think that adds character and personality to my bears. My miniatures range from 1½ inches to 4 inches (my favourites, of course, are the 4 inche ones as I find they dress well).
